Usually I’d expect Patricia Field’s windows to be serving up tranny fierceness, but the images from this post are in fact from one of Bergdorf’’s Christmas windows. I give em an ‘A’ for serving up the glam! With penguins, no less!

My friend Scooter and I were out wandering about the other afternoon when we stumbled across this fence that was adorned with an amusing gaggle of creatures. Naturally I had to stop and take pictures, despite the fact that it was freezing cold.
Because it was cold, I didn’t get to photograph all of the fun characters that were hanging out on the fence, but I captured enough to allow me to discover what it is they are made of. As I was sorting through my images later I noticed the print on the image below. I Googled the name and found the site where you can order your own Put-in Cups to create fence art in your own hood. How enterprising and fun!

This isn’t just any pimp hustlin on the streets of New York, this is my dear friend, the artist Scooter LaForge. Stay tuned to see the fun street art we encountered on our stroll on the afternoon of Christmas Eve.

Last night, after I attempted to rush up Broadway after running some errands in the crazy Christmas crowd, as I was plowing through the snow-laden sidewalk on Great Jones, I was stopped dead in my tracks by this magnificent guy! I almost kept going, but I didn’t like my chances of getting to come back and photograph him, so I put my bags down, fished out my camera and fired of several rounds until I was quite sure I’d gotten him.
I just love how the snow is mounded up beneath his boots, so that it appears that he is actually standing there. I’d like to think that it just happened that way…
Merry Merriness! Happy whateverthehellitisyoucelebrate! Instead of taking the joy out of it by being so tiresomely PC, how about just enjoying yourself responsibly with your loved ones.

I don’t think I’d mess with this guy. He appeared on a wall in the East Village the other day. He’s quite the fearsome lookin beastie there. Perhaps someone thought they’d give those Hell’s Angels a run for their money? Whatever the case, he certainly livens up the spot. Click on him to view him at maximum ferocity!

What’s Mr. Needles all about, with his gigantically proportioned needle? He’s certainly not sneaking up on anyone with that thing! Maybe it’s a subtle little reminder on the street to get that flu shot… if you can still find anywhere that still has them, that is.

These lovely ladies appeared on a wall in the East Village and I made a special trip back by them to photograph them, even though I was in a hurry, because I know how people love to deface or even completely tear things down around here. A helpful friend on FaceBook pointed out to me that the gorgeous gals are the Gutchrlein sisters, also known as the Sisters ‘G’. The title I gave my photograph of this paster is after a Siouxsie and the Banshees song.
